When creating a character, it’s always best to have a background, theme or story for the character in mind. Your character being something interesting or well thought out affects the world at whole around you and changes the story for other players. Things to keep in mind when you create your character: will your character be a criminal or a hard working fisherman? Are you going to be highly motivated or extremely lazy? Do you want to run a business or be a bodyguard? Do you want to live a rich life or do you want to be homeless? The choice is entirely yours, but we encourage you to stick within the boundaries you have set for your character. Ask yourself, “if I am a homeless civilian, would I be driving a million dollar sports car?” Roleplay isn’t about who has the fastest cars, most money or largest armory, it’s about character development and storytelling.

Guidelines to Follow

  • Give your character goals, strengths and weaknesses then stick within those boundaries.
  • Your character can’t be everything or involved in everything. So decide early on what direction you wish to go and stay on track unless  the whole overall storyline changes.
  • Choose your sides and alliances wisely as they will affect everyone’s RP, not just your own.
  • Value your life and the power of conversation before resorting to fighting and weapons.
  • Don’t force your way into scenarios, let things happen organically, the best immersion happens that way!
  • Interactions with all other players should be played to the benefit of ALL players roleplay experience, this is something we do for fun, when everyone is having fun we all win.
  • Be sure to read the server and Discord rules, they are subject to change at any time and should be read again periodically.
  • If you plan to permadeath a character, keep in mind how your plans will affect people in the city at large. Make sure you have a Last Will and everything is in order if you plan on passing any assets on.
  • Roleplay is first above everything else. You should strive to make the best possible scenario for your fellow FRP players, win or lose, it’s about creating the most interesting and fun story at the end of the day.
  • Build up and pacing: All roleplay should be a slow burn, build up and pacing are absolutely necessary in any RP scenario.
  • Criminals need to consider the heat that they may bring to themselves and possibly their gang.
  • Can I have a non-lore friendly gang? Yes, we do not want to limit creativity when it comes to RP so players are allowed to create non-lore friendly gangs.
